Olympia Fields mansion built by R. Kelly listed for $3.5 million

The massive, 30-room Olympia Fields mansion that disgraced recording artist R. Kelly once owned was listed Wednesday for $3.499 million. The six-bedroom, 21,182-square-foot Olympia Fields mansion was constructed it in 1997. After R. Kelly, another musician, Rudolph Isley, the founding member of the R&B soul group the Isley Brothers, and his wife, Elaine owned it.

After a year of sweeping changes and more controversy, the CPD enters 2024 with a new permanent boss, Larry Snelling, facing a long to-do list. 2023 saw a mix of highs and lows. Homicide and nonfatal shooting totals fell, but robbery and carjacking caused an overall uptick in violence. Fostering stronger community relationships, reduce violent crime and shootings and maintaining officer wellness and morale are among the departments goals for the incoming year.

Chef Christian Hunter led his new restaurant home to a Michelin star in less than a year after opening. He is starting to tell his story through food at Atelier in Lincoln Square. Hunter uses ingredients from sustainable sources and changes his 12 course tasting menu constantly where a dish might last two weeks or so.

As the last day of Hanukkah approaches, Chicagoland has been celebrating the holiday through public gatherings around menorah lighting. Leading up to the holiday, Rabbi Mendy Weg connected with Northwestern University students as he delivered dreidels and chocolate gelt coins to students in his “HannuKart”.
