The FanDuel Sportsbook No Sweat Bet promotions are an excellent chance for new bettors to dip their toes into sports betting as they’ll recoup their full stake if their first bet goes south.

The only currently live offer for FanDuel is a bet $5 on any market, get $150 in bonus bets regardless if the wager wins or loses.

While the offers below are not currently valid, there were two available promotions as part of the No Sweat Bet offers:

For new users, which is generally a $1,000 max as their first bet: FanDuel often offers $1,000 back in bonus bets if your first wager loses. Even if that first wager doesn’t pan out, new users can get their stake back in bonus bets and try it again.

For existing users at much smaller increments, like a $10 NBA No Sweat same game parlay: For key events, FanDuel will often offer something like a $10 No Sweat parlay for all users. There are often some odds requirements, like it must be +400 or longer, but if the SGP loses, you’ll get refunded in bonus bets up to $10.

We’ll explain more about the nature of these promotions, who is eligible to claim them and explain the nature of bonus bets in the paragraphs below.

FanDuel’s No Sweat First Bet, explained

The No Sweat First Bet is one of the most generous new user promotions in the country. New players can get their full stake returned in bonus bets if their first wager is unsuccessful. It’s often up to $1,000, but for the Super Bowl, it got as high as $3,000. You need to actually wager that much to take full advantage, of course.

Any new bettor is covered, even if their first wager goes south. With that in mind, users can take advantage of excellent odds from FanDuel Sportsbook on virtually every market across a wide variety of leagues.

Additionally, FanDuel’s No Sweat First Bet promotion does not require a promo code so users can simply click on the module below to claim this generous offer.

We’ll explain more about the sign-up conditions and other relevant details in the paragraphs below, but the overall structure of the promotion is simple.

When new users sign up with FanDuel Sportsbook, they need to place a $10 wager to initiate the promotion. If that first wager wins, new users will keep their stake and whatever winnings they accrue. So if you deposit and bet $100 on the Cubs +120, you profit $120, keep your $100, and you’ll have $220 in your account to continue betting or withdraw.

However, if that first wager goes south, new users will get their complete stake back in bonus bet — limited at $1,000.

Relevant conditions for the No Sweat First Bet promotion

Before users sign up with FanDuel, they should review the conditions outlined below to make sure they can claim the promotion and to make the most of the offer.

As is the case with similar promotions, this offer is limited to new FanDuel customers so only users who have not previously signed up for a FanDuel account can claim this promotion.

As such, the first step for any new user to claim this promotion is to sign up for a FanDuel Sportsbook account. This promotion does not require a promo code so users can simply click the module displayed above and input the relevant information to claim this offer.

From there, all users need to do is to place a real-money wager of at least $10 to initiate this offer. A real-money wager is a commonly used term to describe a cash wager. Notably, any wager placed with bonus bets or bet credits will not trigger this promotion.

What are bonus bets?

Bonus bets are fairly common among new user promotions as many different books offer users some kind of return on their stake as part of a sign-up promotion. Essentially, bonus bets function as credits for users to make additional wagers.

As is the case with the FanDuel No Sweat First Bet promotion, users have to place a real-money wager to trigger any offer with bonus bets, so there is an input cost. Of course, if that first cash wager wins, new users will keep their stake and get their profits, based on the odds of their wager.

However, and this is where the No Sweat portion comes in, if users do not hit on that first wager, they’re still protected as they’ll get their full stake back in bonus bets. FanDuel’s promotion is limited at $1,000 so users are protected on any stake under a grand, which is excellent for first time bettors who may be a bit uneasy about placing a big first stake.

Notably, bonus bets cannot be withdrawn or cashed out as they can only be used for additional wagers on the platform and do not function as cash. If a user hits on a bonus bet wager, they will get their profits in cash but not will not get the bonus bet stake returned.

How do the bonus bets work?

As noted above, bonus bets function as credits for users to make additional wagers. They can’t be withdrawn or cashed out but do allow users to place another bet if their first one goes south.

Here’s an example. You lose your $100 No Sweat First Bet on the Blackhawks, and get $100 back in bonus bets. You’ll now have to use those bonus bets to turn them into cash.

Say you take $50 of the bonus bets and put it on the Bulls at +200 against the Bucks.

  • If the Bulls win, you profit $100 but you don’t keep the $50 bonus bet. So you’ll now have $100 in cash, plus $50 in bonus bets remaining.
  • If the Bulls lose, the $50 bonus bet just goes away.

Bonus bets will generally be distributed to a new user’s account within 72 hours after their qualifying wager is settled. From that point, they will be valid for seven days.
