How to wager on Saturday

The Sooners go to Stillwater for a huge rivalry game against the Cowboys on Saturday. Both teams are 4-1 in conference play and the Sooners own the tiebreaker over Texas, the only other 7-1 team in the Big-12.

This will likely be the last game in the Bedlam series, at least for the foreseeable future. The Sooners will take the dominating record in this rivalry to the SEC next year so it’s unlikely that we’ll see a similar matchup late in the year.

A win here would solidify the Sooner lead in the conference and a loss would send them tumbling and leave a vacancy for, potentially, the Cowboys to fill.

The Sooners are coming off a somewhat surprising loss to Kansas last week, in a game in which neither QB threw a touchdown. Granted, Sooner QB Dillon Gabriel did reach the endzone three times, on his feet, and rushed for 64 yards, but he’ll need to be more efficient through the air to secure a victory in Stillwater.

As noted, the Cowboys are 4-1 in conference play and have won three straight. This will be a serious test but if they can pull it off, they’ll be in contention for the conference championship.

Both teams have been good on offense this year, ranking in the conference’s most productive offense’s all season. Both teams rely on the ground game to get things started so whichever team’s defense can plug the holes and shut down the run is likely to win.

Overall, the Sooners are six point favorites on the road with the total at 61.5. There’s a lot of firepower on both offenses so a totals bet isn’t worth the money here. The Cowboys have been wining and covering the spread and, with home field advantage, they will again here. Bet Oklahoma State to beat the narrow spread.
