How to wager this weekend

The final week of the NFL regular season is here and teams are still jockeying for position, with some on the outside looking in hoping to win and secure a postseason berth, while the selected few that have clinched already will likely rest some starters and prepare for the first playoff matchups.

Currently, the Ravens and 49ers have secured the top seed in the AFC and NFC, respectively. The Dolphins and Cowboys have earned the second seeds in their respective conferences. Houston Texans (-120) vs. Indianapolis Colts (+100)

This one is especially interesting because Houston’s run defense has been solid in stopping yardage this year and Jonathan Taylor has been the offensive spark for Indy, with his aggressive running between the hash marks opening up passing lanes for Gardner Minshew.

That said, Houston has allowed 18 rushing touchdowns this year and Taylor has six on the year. There’s a high total for this one but, despite solid offensive production, this feels like a slower-paced more physical game.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-190) vs. Baltimore Ravens (+155)

The Steelers are road favorites here in large part due to the fact that the Ravens will be resting some starters, including Lamar Jackson. That doesn’t necessarily guarantee a win for Pittsburgh, but as you can tell by the lines, it certainly gives them an edge.

Despite a relatively quiet year from Najee Harris, he’s been on a hot streak over the past two weeks averaging 4.1 yards per carry against the Bengals before Christmas and 4.5 yards per carry last week against the Seahawks. The Ravens have allowed 4.9 yards per carry to RBs on first down this year, look for Najee to have an outsized impact in this one as the Steelers will likely be able to win their way into the postseason.
