Despite being a pass-first offense, they’ll need good production from Tawee Walker to keep the Jayhawk defense honest. An x-factor here is Ethan Downs as he’s been able to disrupt quarterbacks all season in this blitz heavy Sooner defense.
That could be bad news for Jason Bean who hasn’t faced a defense with this much speed. To compound the issue, Bean has been less accurate and less explosive on the ground than previous seasons.
Finally, while the KU defense has been good at disrupting rushers and passers behind the line of scrimmage, they’ve failed to close out on defense with one of the worst defenses when opponents are in scoring position.
